The atmosphere at Southern Cross is one of relaxed informality where your connection with the beach and the sea is not compromised by worries about whether you have sand on your feet or not.
The floors are white, the verandahs open directly onto a green lawn and the sound of the surf is always with you. You are here to relax and enjoy yourself whether your desire is to lie all day in the sun, run or walk along the beach, explore the Robberg nature reserve, learn to surf (Plett has an excellent surf school) or spend a Saturday afternoon watching the Stormers play rugby on TV.
There is an honesty bar from which you can pour your own drinks and the owners and staff are on hand when you need them. Southern Cross is only 7 minutes from the centre of town which has a variety of restaurants. The shopping in Plett is great and Susie has her own shop "The Old House Shop" which is a must see for anyone looking for interesting gifts and homeware as well as good quality adults and children's clothing.
There are two local golf courses and also two horse riding facilities which will take you right into the hills nearby. For those wanting to keep in touch with friends, relatives or business wifi is available. |
