Private Nature Reserve is approximately one and a half
hours from Cape Town and offers both standard and exclusive self-catering cottages for up to 50 people. The reserve
boasts over 40 kilometers of hiking
trails in pristine mountain reserve where guests have exclusivity. Bird watchers
are privy to over 150 different species of birds. The reserve
also offers freshwater mountain dams for swimming and bass
fishing. A serious 4x4 route is also available for the
more adventurous.
The trail offers sweeping views from
the mountain top and is a great place for a picnic lunch
or some sundowners. Guests can mountain bike through the
various orchards and vineyards at their leisure. Rusticus
Vintage Wine Cellar is located on the reserve and offers
wines made in a traditional way using antique wine
making machinery and equipment. Guests can join a cellar
tour and learn about how this machinery is still in use
today. The Klaasvoogds Game Reserve offers guided game
drives for guests. The drives are approximately 2 hours
in duration and include snacks and refreshments. In addition,
there is a small rustic banquet hall available for functions,
birthdays, workshops and retreats.

Apart from the sweeping views of mountains & vineyards, Nightjar and Hadeda boast French doors and windows throughout, terracotta tiled living areas and carpeted bedrooms complete with reeded ceilings in every room and each offers a spa bath and shower in the bathroom. These cottages are adjacent yet private with separate gardens and entrances, making them ideal for romantic couples. The possibility to combine the accommodation and entertain larger family groups of 6-8 people in comfort also exists by means of a common & adjoining garden door.
