Africa’s only nuclear power station is situated on
the West Coast of the Western Cape. It boasts the largest
turbine generators in the Southern Hemisphere and is the
most southerly-situated nuclear power station in the world.
Koeberg is one of the pillars on which the economy of the
Western Cape is built and plays a vital role in ensuring
a reliable supply of electricity to the Western Cape. Visitors
are invited to visit our Visitors Centre and discover the
secrets of the atom, the clean and safe power Koeberg generates
and the workings of this unique power station. Our private
3000 ha nature reserve also offers outdoor enthusiasts
the opportunity to explore several hiking trails with a
first-hand glimpse of the plant and animal life within
a tranquil and protected environment. |
