Glencairn
Beach is a quaint little beach but is often overlooked
as you head from Fish Hoek to Simon’s Town.
The white, sandy beach is great for swimming and sunbathing without the crowds
of people that flock to the more popular beaches. The water is usually a nice
swimming temperature and the waves are typically quite small which makes it great
for a leisurely swim.
Situated in close proximity to the picturesque Simon’s Town there are often
sailing regattas in the bay. It is wonderful to relax on the beach, read a book
and watch the colourful sailboats out in False Bay. After your day on the beach
why not have lunch or even an ice cream in Simon’s Town.

Location: Situated
between Fish Hoek and Simon’s
Town. Where the M4 meets the M6.
Wind Direction: Sheltered when there is a Northerly
wind.
Surf Spot: The
beach break is not exciting at all, but there is
a left reef break next to the rocky point which
extends into the bay which is better. It’s
quite a short ride that dies as it hits deeper
water.
Things to bring: Sun cream, umbrella, towel,
beach mat, cool drinks, carry bag, snacks, goggles & snorkel, dry clothes,
a hat, bat & ball… and any other beach games.
