Scarborough
Beach can be reached on the coastal road from both
sides of the peninsula. The journey there is well
worth it as the seaside scenery is simply a delight.
Scarborough Beach is quite large, with plenty of
room for sunbathing. There is a popular point break
frequented by surfers and body boarders. It is
advisable to take care when you are swimming at
Scarborough Beach as there are a few rip currents
just off the beach.
The beach never really gets too crowded but it does get rather busy in summer,
especially over the December holidays when the town comes alive with visitors.
On windy days the beach is suitable for kites and for kite surfing as there is
plenty of space to manoeuvre around.
