Cape Point 2 Day Hike
- “a unique place, a unique experience”
Come and experience something completely unique and which very few people have had the pleasure to enjoy : a two day hike on one of the world’s most renowned landmarks. The hike itself consists of two different parts. On the first day we tackle the False Bat section of 14 kms, plus an extra 4 kms if we take in Cape Point itself. At the end of the day we arrive at the spectacular Cape Point at a time when the crowds have left, allowing us to enjoy the spectacular views in peace. We allow approx 7 hours for this first days hiking. This includes photo and refreshment breaks. When we finally arrive at the overnight hut we can enjoy a warm shower and a barbecue dinner before setting down on the veranda to enjoy the stunning views. On day two the hiking distance is about 19kms but over relatively flat terrain. On the tour we will hopefully have good viewing of a number of animal species including Baboons, Eland, Bontebok, Zebra, tortoises , plenty of bird species and (hopefully from a distance) some of the snake species found on the park. These include Puff adder, Cape Cobra and the harmless Molesnake And finally between June and October we should be able to see many Whales who visit our shores during this time. On top of this are the famous Fynbos plants that are found in an absolute pristine condition at Cape Point. There are 26 species of Protea alone in the park and altogether 2285 species of plants are found on the Peninsula.
