| Buitenverwachting,
meaning “Beyond Expectation” forms part of
the original Simon van der Stel’s Constantia farm,
and is situated on the east-facing slopes of the Constantiaberg,
looking towards the blue waters of the False Bay, barely
12 km away. Situated in the heart of the historical Constantia
Valley the farm boasts an exceptional range of wines. Buitenverwachting
evolved from a 10 000 case boutique cellar to a 90 000
case medium size but top end wine producer. Circa 40% of
its wines are being exported to Europe and the U.S. The
past ten years were focused on planting the best clone
material available as well as equipping the cellar with
the latest wine processing facilities available, boasting
a new state of the art bottling facility as well as top
of the range cooling and pressing plants. |
