An abundance
of cannas will welcome you to Van Loveren, home to the
Retief Family since 1937.
Van Loveren is well renowned
for best value, and was recently awarded Best Value Cellar
by the Wine Magazine and Bussell Retief was named Best
Winemaker by the Wine Of The Month Club. On the beautiful
country road to Bonnievale in the Breede River Valley (160km
from Cape Town) lies the Van Loveren farms.
Their borders
are lined by bright red cannas which are ablaze with colour
for eight months of the year. The white cellar with its
characteristic four modern gables are in stark contrast
with the vine green and red of the cannas. An oil painting
of the cellar with the beautiful cannas was used for the
popular eye-catching labels. |
